The Sound Of Heaven

Mar 9, 2026

Key Scripture:

Acts 2:1–2

Acts 2 describes a moment unlike anything the disciples had experienced before. They were gathered together, waiting, praying, and seeking God. Suddenly, the scripture says there came a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind. Pastor Randy reminded us that this moment wasn’t random, it was the Trinity at work. The sound from heaven points to Jesus, the living Word. The rushing wind reveals the movement of the Holy Spirit. And the fire that follows shows the Father receiving the sacrifice of His people.

These men had already laid down their lives to follow Jesus. They left everything behind: security, reputation, and their plans for the future. When heaven responded in Acts 2, it was not simply an emotional moment; it was God meeting a surrendered people. Whenever genuine surrender meets God’s presence, something powerful happens.

Their sacrifice positioned them for an encounter with God.

Reflective Questions:

1. What areas of my life am I still holding back from God?

2. What does surrender look like for me right now?

Prayer:

Lord, I want to live with an open heart before You. Help me release anything I’ve been holding too tightly. As I seek You, remind me that You are a God who responds when Your people draw near.

Action Step:

Spend a few minutes asking God to reveal anything you need to lay down before
