Recognizing The Enemy’s Lies
Scripture:
“When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44
Devotional:
One of the hardest parts about lies is that they rarely sound obvious. The enemy twists truth just enough to make it feel convincing. He whispers things like, “This will never change,” “You’re always the problem,” or “God isn’t really speaking to you.” Lies often sound logical—but they lead us away from peace.
The helmet of salvation helps us pause and ask, Where is this thought coming from? God’s voice brings clarity, conviction, and hope—even when it challenges us. The enemy’s voice brings confusion, condemnation, and isolation. Learning to recognize the difference is key to spiritual maturity.
Reflection Questions:
1. What lies do I tend to believe about myself, God, or others?
2. How do those lies affect my emotions and decisions?
3. What would change if I stopped agreeing with those lies?
Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to recognize lies when they appear. Give me discernment to know what is from You and what is not. I don’t want to live misled or confused. Lead me in truth and peace. Amen.
Action Step:
Throughout today, notice your thoughts. When something feels heavy or condemning, stop and ask, Is this drawing me closer to God—or further away?
