What Are You Holding Back?

Jul 25, 2025

Scripture:

Luke 9:24

“For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.”

Devotional:

Being “all in” means there’s nothing left to withhold. No plan B. No secret sin. No conditional obedience. We often say, “Jesus, take everything”—but leave one area of our heart locked up. Yet the invitation isn’t partial death; it’s full surrender so we can walk in full resurrection.

You can’t live in freedom if you’re still managing fear. You can’t walk in power if you're still clinging to control. So what are you holding back? Name it. Release it. Give it to the One who’s already gone all in for you.

Questions:

1. What area of my life do I still control or micromanage?

2. What would radical surrender look like for me right now?

3. Am I more afraid of letting go—or of missing what God has?

Prayer:

Jesus, I give You what I’ve been hiding. I lay down my conditions, my fears, and my hesitation. I want to lose my life for Your sake—not because it’s easy, but because it’s the only way to find what’s real. Help me trust You completely, not just where it’s comfortable. I want to be all in, just like You were for me.

Action Step:

Take a bold step that costs you something today—give away the money you were saving, confess the thing you’ve hidden, say yes to the opportunity that scares you. Go all in. No more halfway.
