Nearness In Every Season
Key Scripture
Luke 2:37–38 “She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day…”
Devotional
Mina reminded us that Deborah and Anna lived in very different seasons - one leading publicly, one waiting quietly - but both lived near .
Deborah’s authority didn’t appear overnight. The crisis revealed intimacy that already existed . Anna didn’t stumble into her moment. She stayed faithful in obscurity . Nearness sharpened discernment.
Some of us are in Deborah seasons - visible, active, leading. Some are in Anna seasons - quiet, waiting, unseen. Both are holy. The difference isn’t platform. It’s proximity. Purpose awakens in proximity, not position .
You don’t need a new assignment. You need sustained nearness.
Reflect
1. Am I frustrated with my current season?
2. Have I mistaken visibility for significance?
3. What would consistent nearness look like in this season?
Prayer
Lord, whether I’m leading or waiting, keep me near. Teach me to value proximity over position. If I’m in a quiet season, help me stay faithful. If I’m in a visible one, keep me humble. I want to remain close to You in every season.
Action Step
Choose one daily rhythm this week (morning Scripture, prayer walk, worship time) and commit to it consistently.
